This poem was inspired and composed by one of our extraordinary volunteers, Joanna (expressive arts psychotherapist) after leading one of our support groups for our dear Ukrainian colleagues.
Independence Day [Ukraine, 24.08.2022]
Liberation from fear I choose my internal freedom it is present in my heart and I ask you, people: why are you silent?
I cry when they wish me happy holiday we shall be independent and keep our integrity as rivers and mountains present in front of our eyes
sirens overlap they affect the body I feel moved, because it is a powerful day we shall overcome the difficulties my brother said today
calmness, I am sensitive today we keep in touch and cry the price of independence is high and we will afford it.
