Psyche Explorations and Evaluation.

Assessment and Guidance of Therapeutic Modalities and Methodologies.

Everyone is different.  Individual.  Unique

One can spend months or even years attending incongruent therapy sessions; misaligned therapeutic treatment approaches, ill-suited therapeutic plans with unattainable goals or with a mismatched therapist.

I have worked in many diverse clinical settings and in the field; from Harley Street London, high security forensic settings to refugee camps; with truly distinctive individuals and unique groups; from the Hollywood entertainment industry, to visionary tech pioneers, musical artists, and with displaced peoples, asylum seekers and homeless humans in Skid Row.

With two decades in mental health and over 30 years in the Humanitarian sector, I have amassed an integrative and holistic psychological wellness ‘tool kit’, and I have unique methods of clinical assessment and evaluation. With many specialty certificates and trainings from EMDR, Gestalt, Trauma informed Expressive Arts Therapy, Humanist / Person Centred approaches, MBCT, Equine Lead Psychotherapy and Jungian Psychoanalysis.

I can support you in gaining your own insight, educating and empowering you; as I guide you to explore what therapeutic methodology or modality may best serve and benefit you through my holistic, integrative and multidisciplinary approach. For you to feel more aligned, congruent, and connected to your true self.

The Process

We will uncover your interests, concerns or curiosities.

We will then focus on any outcomes or goals you may have.

You will have a greater understanding and appreciation for yourself.

After our initial meeting we will decide what therapeutic models you are interested in or curious about and I will conduct a mini session (30m minutes to 1 hour as you choose) in this modality, and discover together if you feel this is useful or in alignment with your therapeutic journey.

For example: you may have heard of EMDR, or want to try Gestalt therapy, but we discover in our initial conversation you are interested in the unconscious process of Jungian Psychoanalysis and you are curious about active imagination mark making or embodied somatic practice.

Typical sessions will be 90 minutes unless discussed and confirmed beforehand. Three to six sessions are suggested.

Thus our sessions would be framed a such:

Session 1), We have an initial discussion about You; your goals (if any), what is challening you, a behaviour you would like to shift or gain insight on, or have a deeper understanding of a situation you are in, and some brief health history. From here we then decide what methodologies and modalities you are interested in and may be beneficial for you.

Examples...

Session 2) We explore the modality of Gestalt techniques (45 minutes) and MBCT (Mindfulness Based CBT) (45 minutes).

Session 3) We have a short introduction to EMDR protocol (60 minutes) and finish with some embodied practice and breathing techniques (30 minutes).

Session 4) You wish to explore unconscious process, so we start with Active Imagination art / mark making (30 minutes) and we reflect on the proccess and outcome within a Jungian Psychotherapeutic framework (60 minutes).

After our Pyche Exploration and joint Evaluation, we will discuss a therapeutic plan, and how you may attain any goals, outcomes you would like to achieve or behaviours you would like to address. I give you an assessment to reflect on and a framework to work towards with another therapist of your choosing. I give you guidelines and suggestions of what to seek in a therapeutic relationship in the methodologies you feel work for you.

You feel empowered, insightful, aligned and ready to embark on your individual path of mental health and wellness.

Psyche Exploration, evaluation, assessment, and guidance provide a structured, evidence-based approach to understanding an individual’s mental, emotional, and cognitive functioning. By utilizing tools like clinical interviews, standardized tests, and behavioral observations, these processes help identify underlying issues, guide treatment, and promote personal growth.

Key Benefits of Psychological Assessment and Evaluation

  • Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Assessments are important to identify mental health differences and disorders (such as depression, anxiety, or ADHD). This enables professionals to create tailored, evidence-based treatment plans rather than relying on trial-and-error.

  • Enhanced Self-Awareness and Understanding: These processes provide deep insights into an individual's strengths, weaknesses, personality traits, and emotional regulation strategies, fostering personal growth.

  • Improved Symptom Management: Evaluations help in identifying the root causes of distress, which allows individuals and professionals to develop better coping mechanisms and strategies to manage behaviors effectively.

  • Identification of Risk Factors: Assessments can detect potential risks for self-harm, suicide, or other high-risk behaviors, allowing for early intervention.

  • Educational and Occupational Guidance: Psychoeducational evaluations can identify learning disabilities in children to secure necessary school accommodations. In adults, aptitude tests and personality assessments assist in career planning and, in legal contexts, aid in forensic evaluations.

  • Monitoring Progress: Regular evaluation allows for tracking treatment effectiveness, ensuring that interventions are meeting the intended goals.

Key Benefits of Guidance and Counseling

  • Development of Coping Skills: Guidance helps individuals build resilience and develop strategies to handle emotional conflicts and life challenges.

  • Enhanced Emotional Intelligence: Counseling aids in identifying and managing emotions, which improves relationships and personal decision-making.

  • Personal and Academic Growth: It provides a safe space for exploring thoughts and behaviors, promoting self-improvement and better performance in school or work.

In summary, these processes serve as a roadmap for understanding the complex nature of human behavior, leading to informed decisions, better mental health / wellness, and enhanced overall quality of life.

Psyche Exploration in mental health involves delving into the mind's depths through self-inquiry, therapy, mindfulness, and understanding inner critics to foster self-discovery, trauma healing, improved coping, and greater well-being, moving beyond simple problem-solving to deeper personal transformation, often aided by modern apps and techniques like breathwork and meditation.

Key Aspects of Psyche Exploration for Mental Health

  • Understanding the Inner Landscape: Recognizing patterns, inner critics, and unconscious processes through techniques like curiosity, compassion, and mindfulness to foster internal understanding and growth.

  • Therapeutic Approaches:

    • Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy: Uses altered states (induced by psychedelics or deep meditation/breathwork) to access profound insights, heal trauma, promote belonging, and realign values.

    • Jungian Psychology: Explores dreams, symbols, and the unconscious mind to understand the soul's workings.

  • Mind-Body Connection: Recognizing how brain-body states (like "body-wandering") impact mental health and exploring techniques to balance arousal and wandering.

  • Tools & Techniques:

    • Mindfulness & Breathwork: Accessing deeper states of consciousness.

    • Visualization & Self-Talk: Building mental resilience and readiness.

    • Mental Health Apps: Platforms like Psyche Innovations offer holistic assessments (Psyche Scale) and skill-building modules for tracking progress.

  • Shifting Consciousness: A broader cultural trend involves accessing profound states without substances, indicating a collective movement towards greater awareness and interconnectedness.

How it Helps

  • Trauma Healing: Provides pathways to address deep wounds and protective mechanisms.

  • Authenticity: Helps individuals realign with their core values.

  • Resilience: Develops skills to navigate life's challenges, like disruptive changes.

  • Holistic Well-being: Moves beyond symptom management to foster a more fulfilled, meaningful life.
