Psyche Explorations and Evaluation.

Assessment and Guidance of Therapeutic Modalities and Methodologies.

Everyone is different.  Individual.  Unique

Many people spend months—or even years—in therapeutic processes that don’t truly fit: misaligned approaches, unattainable goals, or simply the wrong therapeutic relationship. This can be frustrating, costly, and disheartening.

My role is to help you find clarity.

I have worked across diverse clinical and humanitarian settings—from Harley Street in London and high-security forensic environments, to refugee camps and community-based work. I have supported a wide range of individuals and groups, including celebrities in the entertainment industry, executives, technology innovators, artists, asylum seekers, and people experiencing homelessness.

With over two decades in mental health and more than thirty years in the humanitarian sector, I bring an integrative, holistic psychological “toolkit” and a unique integrative approach to assessment and evaluation. My training spans multiple therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, Gestalt Therapy, Trauma-Informed Expressive Arts Therapy, Humanistic and Person-Centred approaches, Positive Psychology, MBCT, Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and Jungian Psychoanalysis.

Through a collaborative and exploratory process, I support you in gaining insight, knowledge / psychoeducation, and empowerment. Together, we explore which therapeutic methodologies may best serve you—so you can feel more aligned, congruent, and connected to your authentic self.

  The Process

  • We begin by exploring your interests, concerns, and curiosities.

  • We then identify any goals or outcomes you may have.

  • You gain deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself.

Following our initial meeting, we identify therapeutic approaches you feel drawn to or curious about. I then offer a mini experiential session (30–60 minutes, by choice) in one or more modalities. This allows us to discover—together—whether the approach feels supportive and aligned for your therapeutic journey.

For example, you may initially be interested in EMDR or Gestalt Therapy, but through exploration we may discover a deeper resonance with Jungian Psychoanalysis, Active Imagination, expressive mark-making, or embodied somatic practices.

Typical sessions are 90 minutes, unless otherwise discussed. A series of three to six sessions is recommended.

  Session Structure (Example)

Session 1
An in-depth conversation focused on you—your experiences, goals (if any), challenges, patterns you wish to understand or shift, and a brief health history. Together, we identify potential therapeutic modalities to explore.

Session 2
Exploration of Gestalt techniques (45 minutes) and MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) (45 minutes).

Session 3
Introduction to EMDR protocol (60 minutes), followed by embodied practices and breathwork (30 minutes).

Session 4
Exploration of unconscious processes through Active Imagination and art-based mark-making (30 minutes), followed by reflection within a Jungian psychotherapeutic framework (60 minutes).

  Integration & Guidance

Following your Psyche Exploration and joint evaluation, we discuss a therapeutic direction moving forward. You will receive a reflective assessment, guidance on appropriate therapeutic methodologies, and suggestions for what to seek in an ongoing therapeutic relationship—with a therapist of your choosing.

You fulfill your sessions feeling informed, empowered, aligned, and ready to embark on your own path of mental health and wellbeing.

Psyche Exploration, evaluation, assessment, and guidance provide a structured, evidence-based approach to understanding an individual’s mental, emotional, and cognitive functioning. By utilizing tools like clinical interviews, standardized tests, and behavioral observations, these processes help identify underlying issues, guide treatment, and promote personal growth.

Key Benefits of Psychological Assessment and Evaluation

  • Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Assessments are important to identify mental health differences and disorders (such as depression, anxiety, or ADHD). This enables professionals to create tailored, evidence-based treatment plans rather than relying on trial-and-error.

  • Enhanced Self-Awareness and Understanding: These processes provide deep insights into an individual's strengths, weaknesses, personality traits, and emotional regulation strategies, fostering personal growth.

  • Improved Symptom Management: Evaluations help in identifying the root causes of distress, which allows individuals and professionals to develop better coping mechanisms and strategies to manage behaviors effectively.

  • Identification of Risk Factors: Assessments can detect potential risks for self-harm, suicide, or other high-risk behaviors, allowing for early intervention.

  • Educational and Occupational Guidance: Psychoeducational evaluations can identify learning disabilities in children to secure necessary school accommodations. In adults, aptitude tests and personality assessments assist in career planning and, in legal contexts, aid in forensic evaluations.

  • Monitoring Progress: Regular evaluation allows for tracking treatment effectiveness, ensuring that interventions are meeting the intended goals.

Key Benefits of Guidance and Counseling

  • Development of Coping Skills: Guidance helps individuals build resilience and develop strategies to handle emotional conflicts and life challenges.

  • Enhanced Emotional Intelligence: Counseling aids in identifying and managing emotions, which improves relationships and personal decision-making.

  • Personal and Academic Growth: It provides a safe space for exploring thoughts and behaviors, promoting self-improvement and better performance in school or work.

In summary, these processes serve as a roadmap for understanding the complex nature of human behavior, leading to informed decisions, better mental health / wellness, and enhanced overall quality of life.

Psyche Exploration in mental health involves delving into the mind's depths through self-inquiry, therapy, mindfulness, and understanding inner critics to foster self-discovery, trauma healing, improved coping, and greater well-being, moving beyond simple problem-solving to deeper personal transformation, often aided by modern apps and techniques like breathwork and meditation.

Key Aspects of Psyche Exploration for Mental Health

  • Understanding the Inner Landscape: Recognizing patterns, inner critics, and unconscious processes through techniques like curiosity, compassion, and mindfulness to foster internal understanding and growth.

  • Therapeutic Approaches:

    • Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy: Uses altered states (induced by psychedelics or deep meditation/breathwork) to access profound insights, heal trauma, promote belonging, and realign values.

    • Jungian Psychology: Explores dreams, symbols, and the unconscious mind to understand the soul's workings.

  • Mind-Body Connection: Recognizing how brain-body states (like "body-wandering") impact mental health and exploring techniques to balance arousal and wandering.

  • Tools & Techniques:

    • Mindfulness & Breathwork: Accessing deeper states of consciousness.

    • Visualization & Self-Talk: Building mental resilience and readiness.

    • Mental Health Apps: Platforms like Psyche Innovations offer holistic assessments (Psyche Scale) and skill-building modules for tracking progress.

  • Shifting Consciousness: A broader cultural trend involves accessing profound states without substances, indicating a collective movement towards greater awareness and interconnectedness.

How it Helps

  • Trauma Healing: Provides pathways to address deep wounds and protective mechanisms.

  • Authenticity: Helps individuals realign with their core values.

  • Resilience: Develops skills to navigate life's challenges, like disruptive changes.

  • Holistic Well-being: Moves beyond symptom management to foster a more fulfilled, meaningful life.
